In Portugal, there’s a saying that goes, “A pressa é inimiga da perfeição.”  Roughly translated, it means, “Haste is the enemy of perfection.” Nowhere is that philosophy more apparent than in the meticulous making of Portuguese Flannel, for centuries considered among the finest in the world. From these artisans, we have procured an exceptional new flannel that melds the insulating warmth of wool with the softness of pure cotton. Once woven, this exceptional fabric is painstakingly brushed inside and out to lift a fluffy “nap” that traps air in an insulating layer that holds in heat and keeps out cold. Naturally, the tailoring is as exceptional as the fabric, from sturdy multi-stitched to our trademark cuff-to-elbow patches. Perfeição, indeed.
